Historic Hotel Renovation: As-Built to BIM

An architecture firm engaged SCENA to create a complete Revit model from scan data for a 1920s boutique hotel renovation. The property featured intricate architectural details including ornamental plasterwork, custom millwork, and irregularly shaped rooms typical of the era.

Our team used a combination of NavVis and Matterport technology to capture the full interior and exterior of the building. The NavVis mobile scanner quickly documented the overall structure while Matterport provided detailed close-range capture of decorative elements.

The resulting scan-to-BIM model was delivered within seven business days, saving the architecture firm weeks of manual measurement. The Revit model included all major architectural elements, MEP rough-ins visible in the scan data, and accurate room dimensions that accounted for the building's settling and irregularities over its century of existence.
