Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: January 1, 2025

Our Commitment

SCENA® is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to meet or exceed the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility.

We view accessibility as an ongoing effort and continuously work to improve the user experience for everyone.

Measures We Take

To support accessibility, SCENA® takes the following steps:

  • Semantic HTML: We use proper heading structure, landmark regions, and descriptive link text so screen readers can navigate the page logically.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements (navigation, forms, buttons) are operable via keyboard without requiring a mouse.
  • Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements are designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Alternative Text: Images include descriptive alt text so users relying on screen readers can understand the content.
  • Responsive Design: The site is fully functional across screen sizes and supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Dark Mode: A dark mode option is available for users who prefer reduced brightness or higher contrast.
  • Form Labels: All form fields have visible labels and are associated via HTML attributes to assist screen reader users.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, some areas of our website may not yet fully meet all guidelines:

  • Embedded Matterport Tours: Interactive 3D virtual tour players are provided by Matterport and may have accessibility limitations outside of our direct control. Matterport's own accessibility documentation applies to these embeds.
  • Third-Party Widgets: Some third-party tools (e.g., chat widgets, analytics scripts) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We evaluate vendors on accessibility as part of our selection process.

We are actively working to address these limitations in future updates.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

This website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser zoom / text resizing
  • High contrast mode (Windows/browser-level)
